Share Acts of Kindness

We hope that Ada’s life can continue to inspire acts of kindness. We encourage you to share stories of when you receive, witness or carry out yourself; whether you choose a day of the month, say the 2nd to reflect Ada’s birthday, or a day of the week, or just randoms acts as you witness them, feel inspired or see a need.
If you would like, please post these acts of kindness and compassion towards another or acts of courage to be the best a person one can be and these can serve as inspiration to others.   You can post, anonymously or signed, by typing in the box of  “Leave a Reply”.
From the Tributes and Stories of Ada that have been lovingly submitted by her family and friends, we have come to define these terms as follows (though encourage you to define as fits you!):
Kindness:  To give an unexpected gift of a smile, a wave, a hug, a note of appreciation or love, or a treasure that is just-so-suited to the receiver.  Recognize and engage with someone who is feeling alone or left-out.
Compassion:  To be with, to listen to and to share-in another’s sorrow, without judgement or unwanted advice.
Courage:  To stretch beyond your comfort-zone to explore ideas and adventures that will make you a better person.

  1. Last week I went with Kathleen and Chloe to the Franklin County animal shelter to drop off a donation from the soccer tournament. They were really greatful for the donation. It just so happens that I also helped out there a few years ago for my community service as well. It was really great to give back to them a few years ago and then come back last week to give back in Ada’s name.

  2. During Ada’s segment, Alek and I came up with the idea of doing a night of spreading positivity to others through acts of kindness and different stories. We understand that there is currently a lot of negativity in the air with social media and other media outlets. We want to allow people to share their acts of kindness as a way to spread positivity like Ada has taught us to do in the worst of times.

  3. I was going through Facebook and came across a story that reminded me so much of Ada. It was a news article about a 3 year old boy who had noticed his next door neighbor wasn’t picking up his news papers that he would bring to her everyday. So when there was no reply from her at the front door or her phone, he called the police and found out that she had been locked in her basement for 3 days. She was then helped to get out by the boy. Little kids don’t think about this kind of thing. It reminds me of a story that Jane had shared with me about how Ada saved a bird from her cat when she was little. It’s the little things that go a long way and this 3 year old boy and Ada understood that very well. We need more people like these two!

  4. I don’t know where to begin. I have a friend who could be Ada’s twin. When I first met her 2 months ago, I knew I was in the presence of someone special, someone who was kind, caring, and all of the other quality that Ada shared with the world. When she found out about Ada’s story, her first reaction was I want to know more about her and live like she did. Everyday she says to me that when she sees something that isn’t right or she isn’t sure about something, she says, What would Ada do. Since then, we have become close and she goes around sharing Ada’s story. For a while, I’ve had trouble finding a great friend like this due to some past experiences, but now through Ada, I believe that I have found a friend who truly is like another sister and most importantly, lives herlife just like Ada.

    1. Ada’s undeniable spirit continues to impact our hearts in so many ways. I think about how she would be reaching out to everyone during these difficult social and political times. Best wishes to you Alex. Debbie, Ada’s aunt
